Product Description

This water-free solution contains 1% pure Retinol, an ingredient that can reduce the appearances of fine lines, of photo damage and of general skin ageing.

While Retinol has been studied extensively, it is irritating to the skin and newer technologies exist that mimic the visible effects of Retinol without causing skin irritation.

For this reason, we generally recommend using Granactive Retinoid 2% or Granactive Retinoid 5% instead of this formula.

Water-free, alcohol-free, nut-free, vegan, gluten-free.

Directions

Apply a small amount to face in the PM as part of your skincare regimen, after water serums but before heavier treatments.

Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Avoid unprotected solar exposure. Store in a cool, dry place.

Ingredients

Squalane, Caprylic/Capric, Triglyceride, Simmondsia, Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Retinol, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Hydroxymethoxphenyl Decanone, BHT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from this is an amazing retinol [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was complimentary from Skeepers in exchange for my honest review, so let’s talk about The Ordinary 1% Retinol in Squalane. My skin looks smoother, brighter, and more even. It helps with fine lines, acne scars, and texture, but I did experience some dryness and purging at first—totally normal with retinol. For the price, this is an amazing retinol! Just be sure to start slow, keep your skin hydrated, and never skip sunscreen. Have you tried this one yet? Let me know in the comments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wrinkles LOVE this product! I have used Retinol for years. I usually had my doctor give an rx for Retinol. I decided to give this a try and love it. Works just as well as the rx. It is easy to use and like the ease of use with other products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have for maturer skins I’ve been using this product for the last 2 years and have definitely seen an improvement in my skin tone. In fairness, this is probably due to a combination of factors but the Retinol has definitely played a major role. I use it 2-3 times a week (at night time). It feels luxuriant on application, I love the texture. My 58 year old skin now looks clearer than ever before, I’m sure my fine lines are less visible and I’ve ditched my foundation completely in favour of tinted moisturiser - preferably with SPF50 of course!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Retinol! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ’ve been using The Ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane (gifted by The Ordinary), and it’s quickly become a must-have in my routine. The formula is gentle yet effective, leaving my skin smooth and glowing. I’ve noticed an improvement in my skin texture and a reduction in fine lines. It absorbs easily without any greasy residue, and I love how my skin feels hydrated after each use. If you’re new to retinol, start with a few times a week and use it alongside moisturizer and SPF. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve their skin’s appearance!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Oil form has it's downside The oil form is not ideal: it doesn't get entirely absorbed by the skin and after a while it runs down in areas where it shouldn't be applied, such as running down from the forehead to the eyelids, creating irritation. Other than that it improves the skin as per product description, and it has a very good price compared to other retinols on the market. I will however not purchase this again, because it irritates my eyelids. I have tried other retinols from other brands and they do not give this problem because they are not in oil form.

Can this be used under the eyes? Also for people who usually buy this, do you know how long it usually takes to be restocked?

Asked by: serish
No I wouldn’t use around the eyes. Says not to on bottle. Not sure when it’s restocked
