Rated 1 out of 5 by from What’s changed to cause the burn? Experiencing burn marks and swollen eyes just like everyone else. Don’t know what has changed in the formula, but it’s definitely not the same. I only used one drop and made sure it was dry before layering anything else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY!! Do not buy this product, just like all the other reviews it made my skin flare up into dry, red patches all over my face and neck. Had it on and off for about a month until i looked at the reviews of this product and saw that everyone else had been having the same reactions. I’m guessing they must have changed the formula because I had used this product for years and never had a problem with it. Hopefully now my skin will get better so I can get my confidence back!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware salicylic acid I used this product 3 nights in a row and then on the 4th day my chin was red and sore and rough. It took about a week to clear up. Quite scary! Relieved I only used it on my chin . . .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from IN LOVE, changed my life I bought this product a few months ago, was skeptical after seeing the views but I opened and tried it in the last 2 weeks, and it was so worth it. My skin when I first started using it purged and went slightly red but I just had this gut feeling not to stop using it and it was right. My skin is EXTREMELY sensitive and I also have seborrheic dermatitis and it's GONE just after the 2 weeks. My pimples are currently purging but they are definitely calming down. Salicylic Acid IS strong but your skin can adjust to it like mine did and I'm happier with my skin then ever before. In the case of this product the grass is indeed greener on the other side.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Causes painful burning reaction I applied this product to my chin and nose and it has caused painful, red, itchy patches where applied and extremely irritated eyes; skin peeling off my eyelids, itching, burning and eyes are bloodshot. I have used the ordinary salicylic acid without issue for years so when first experienced this reaction believed it was caused by another product, stripped my skincare routine to plain water and aqueous cream, tested products on arm and neck and slowly reintroduced products one at a time, it's definitely the Salicylic Acid causing this painful reaction. DON'T RECOMMEND THIS AT ALL.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY!!! Causes allergic reactions!!! I had been using this product for several years and it seems something changed because it caused a horrible reaction on my skin. I didn’t realize it was this product causing my eyes and cheeks to swell, and after two hospital visits, corticoid shots, and antihistamines, I started to suspect this product was the culprit. I thought I was allergic to food or dust, but after several weeks of no reaction and using only the gentlest of products on my face, I finally tried this again. And BOOM. The reaction started less than 24 hours after using it, my eyes and cheeks swelled, my lips and tongue were tingling - same reactions that had happened weeks before. This time I had my medication with me, but it still took several days for the reaction to fully subside. My skin was dry and peeling for about 4-5 days before finally returning to normal. I decided to look up reviews of this product and was horrified to see tons of reviews with the same reaction as me. I dumped the product and will never buy another product from The Ordinary again. No idea how a brand could be so irresponsible with skincare products! I haven’t had a reaction since dumping it but I am still getting a full allergy panel to see if I can get clear answers. Cannot believe this hasn’t been recalled yet.
